J. J. Phillips died of a gunshot wound in the upstairs bedroom after he claimed to be shot by a burglar in the middle of the night. His wife, present at the scene, waited to 3 hours to call for help because she claimed there was still an ongoing burglary downstairs, and a strange man lurking in the yard. When help arrived, Phillips didn’t want much aid. The Phillips’ young daughter backed up some of this tale but the burglary was confirmed to be staged. The address was then 50 Union Ave.
This is the home where 18-year-old Jeffrey Dahmer began his crime spree. Dahmer murdered 17 boys and men from 1978 to 1991 until he was caught. His first murder happened at this home in 1978. He killed a friend and buried pieces of the remains in various locations on this 1.5-acre property. Some of the body parts were never recovered.
